What’s included in the Balanced Skaters Platform?
Our mobile app
Available on iOS + Android
12-week training programs
The app includes a full season of training plans designed to improve strength and mobility in a progressive, sustainable way. Each training plan contains 3 months of comprehensive weekly lessons designed to be completed in 90 minutes, and each lesson builds on top of the previous week.
As a coach or trainer, we encourage you to use our programming to teach your own off-ice classes. You can follow our training plans as-is, or use them as a starting point and adapt them based on the needs of your students. We designed them to be flexible enough to work within your schedule, and included just enough structure to keep your skaters on track.
Our programs are split into two levels: Pre-Preliminary-Juvenile and Intermediate-Senior. The exercises inside each lesson have easy to follow cues & progression notes, so you can quickly adapt to the needs of multi-level classes.
Follow-along lesson videos
Want to get a feel for pacing, or try a lesson yourself? We’ve added a 90-minute video with each lesson that you can follow along at home. No fancy equipment is needed (just a mat and two yoga blocks), and you can train from your living room. Our videos include demonstrations of each exercise as well as verbal cues to make it easy to follow along.
Exercise library
Our app has a library of 200+ detailed exercises that were created with skaters in mind, including groundbreaking rotational exercises that are proven to improve jump techniques. Each exercise includes video demonstrations, coaching cues, descriptions, and progressions to harder/easier exercises. Save your favorites to quickly reference them later. You can even sync videos so you can access them offline.
Video comparison
Compare videos of your skaters (or yourself) to the video demonstrations of our expert instructors in the app. This is an invaluable tool to show skaters their precise air position, take off, or body alignment.
Customized Spotify Playlists
Music is powerful. Each lesson has modules that are designed to be completed in a designated timeframe, and we want to help you stay on track. We offer 90-minute playlists reflecting the exercises using beats per minute (BPM) to keep the class flow. After each module, a chime plays to remind you when it’s time to move on to the next group of exercises. Who says core work can’t be musical?
Webinars
Live virtual talks for coaches & trainers
As a member of the Balanced Skaters community, you will have free access to educational resources relating to skaters’ development. Whether you’re troubleshooting a skill or learning about new training methodologies, we offer valuable conversations that are accessible through livestreams and recordings.

Worksheets
For skaters to succeed, consistency is key. We created some simple but powerful printable worksheets that allow your students to take ownership of their training habits and begin tracking their progress.
Printable quarterly evaluations
Want to take a more structured approach? At the end of each 12 week training cycle, you can assess your students’ progress by evaluating their performance in 26 benchmark exercises.
Examinations are broken into two groups: mobility/strength/balance and strength/plyometrics/rotations. We provide worksheets to help you track their progress and accurately level them for the next training cycle.
Facebook group
Our private, coaches-only Facebook group includes opportunities to ask questions, find resources, and connect with each other. Share your training tips & techniques and get feedback from other coaches as well as the Balanced Skaters team of experts.
